Skin Pigmentation & Sun Damage

At Beyond Beauty we use Ellipse IPL technology to improve the appearance of sun damaged and pigmented skin.

How does it work?

The treatment works by directing well-controlled pulses of light into the upper skin layer.

The light is absorbed by two of the body's own natural chemicals - melanin in the pigmented areas and haemoglobin in the red blood cells.

Both these pigments convert the light energy into heat. This heat is used to destroy the parts of the cells in which the melanin is stored, and to damage the walls of the vessels supplying blood to the areas where vascular damage is seen.

Following the treatment, you may experience a slight redness, which disappears soon after.

Does it hurt?

As with all IPL based treatments, the sensation is likened to an elastic band snapping at the skin.

How many treatments are recommended?

Therapists usually recommend a course of 6 treatments to see the best results possible from this treatment, however this does depend on the condition of your skin - whether you have a small amount of damage or a lot.

Request a free Skin Pigmentation & Sun Damage consultation

A consultation is manditory, as you will need a patch test before any treatment commences.
